Solar Plexus Chakra and Happiness
5 min readKeeping your solar plexus chakra strong and healthy can help to keep you happy and whole. The word chakra comes from a Sanskrit word that means “wheel.” There are seven chakras inside of your body and more in your ethereal body.
Each of your chakras deal with your emotions and your physical body. Your chakras are full of energies and they help to govern certain parts of your body. When you have chakras that are unbalanced, it will leave you feeling sad, tired, sick, and lonely.
One of the most important chakras is the Solar Plexus chakra. This is the chakra that helps to control your self-esteem and helps to give you confidence. It is found close to the belly button and between the sternums.
When you are around fifteen years old, your Solar Plexus chakra begins to develop and this is when you will figure out what you want in your life, what you believe and you will begin to form opinions about things and others.
Chakra
When your chakra is unbalanced, it can be either too large or too small. When your solar plexus chakra is too small it will make you feel that you are insignificant, and it will show by the way that you carry yourself.
You may become hidden, strange feeling and not want other people to talk to you or be around you. You will apologize for whatever you do, and you will feel guilty and scared. The solar plexus will shrink when you are unbalanced, and this will make you have these problems:
- Being unorganized.
- Procrastinating.
- Tired.
- Lonely.
- Feeling like a victim.
- Unhealthy boundaries.
- Passive Aggressiveness.
- Co-dependency.
- Problems reaching your goals.
Large Solar Plexus
When your solar plexus is too large, it can cause you to want to always be in control of people and things. It will make you have strong beliefs and you will not want to listen to the opinions of other people. This can be people that have Type A personalities or those that are in power.
Your energy can be too intense, and it can make you feel that you are better than other people and that you are not able to show your emotions.
Unbalanced Chakra
If your solar plexus is unbalanced, there are many things that you can experience such as:
- Tiredness
- Allergies.
- Fibromyalgia
- Arthritis
- Bladder trouble.
- Weight Loss.
- Gall Stones.
- Adrenal Issues
- Pancreas problems.
- Anemia.
Your ego can cause your solar plexus chakra to be unbalanced. When you listen to your ego it can make you to feel that you are worthless and that you have no friends and nothing good in your life. This can make you have a hard time accepting others and can leave you feeling angry and upset.
Cleansing Your Chakra
It is easy to make your chakras balanced, you just have to work at it. Just like you get up each day, take a bath and fix your hair and makeup, you can do the same to balance your chakras.
When you want to keep your chakras strong, you need to get rid of the negative energies that surround your chakras. You can do this by cleansing them. One way to cleanse your chakra is imagining a white light surrounding you. The light can go from your head to your feet and get rid of negative and old energies.
Balancing Your Small Chakra
If your solar plexus chakra is smaller than it should be, it can leave you with bad self-esteem. You need to balance your chakra and learn to accept yourself and love who you are.
When your chakra is too small, chances are you cannot accept compliments well and you feel that you are unworthy. These things can happen from a childhood and if you have had traumatic experiences in your life.
The solar chakra is based on the color yellow so if you feel bad, eat foods such as:
- Bananas
- Yellow Peppers
- Squash
- Sunflower Seeds
- Lemons
You can even wear clothing that is yellow or go out into the sun to pick up the yellow energy.
Balancing a Large Chakra
If your chakra is larger than it should be, you have to learn to not let things bother you that you cannot control. You have to have an open mind and you need to maintain your beliefs.
You can meditate each day to help you cleanse your chakra and you need to find ways to let out your negative emotions. Scream or go to the gym.
Since the solar plexus is seen as the yellow color, you can use the opposite to calm down the chakra, and this would be the color purple. You can also eat foods that are purple such as:
- Plums
- Grapes
- Cabbage
Another great way to get your solar plexus in the right size is to laugh a lot. Laughter is like a medicine and it can help you to let go of fear and negativity in your life.
Healing
Keep your solar plexus happy and do so by using crystals and working out. Use different tools that bring you joy to keep your solar plexus strong.
You can wear some crystals that are yellow such as:
- Tiger’s Eye
- Golden Topaz
- Sunstone
- Amber
- Citrine
You can also eat foods that are yellow such as lemons, grapefruit, and bananas.
Another great way to increase your solar plexus is to use aromatherapy. Use these different scents such as:
- Peppermint
- Grapefruit
- Chamomile
- Ylang-ylang
There are different yoga poses that you can do, and you can dance to heal your chakras. Doing any kind of exercise can help to keep your mind, body, and soul healthy and can keep your solar plexus chakra at the right size.
Keeping it Healthy
The solar plexus is the place where much of our hurts and pain is stored. You can make sure it stays healthy by being forgiving and by using positive mantras. People that have a strong third eye will feel empowered and will learn to be more positive.
When you are being negative or feeling guilt or shame, you will cause your solar plexus to become unbalanced. Learn to love yourself and to accept who you are. Be healthy so that you can live a strong and healthy life.
While the idea of chakras is intriguing, I find it hard to take such metaphysical claims seriously without scientific backing. Can we really attribute psychological issues to something as abstract as energy centers?
I see your point, but many people find value in these practices even if they don’t adhere strictly to scientific validation.
This article brilliantly encapsulates the profound connection between our physical and emotional health through the lens of chakras. It’s a reminder that our self-perception can significantly influence our well-being. Thank you for shedding light on this vital aspect of self-care!
Absolutely! It’s fascinating how ancient concepts still resonate in modern wellness practices.
The interplay between ego and chakra balance illustrates a significant psychological principle: our internal narratives shape our external realities. It’s worth exploring further.
Indeed! It’s fascinating how ancient wisdom aligns with contemporary psychological theories.
‘When your solar plexus chakra is too large…’—that sounds like every corporate leader I’ve ever encountered. A balance is crucial, indeed!
‘Too large’ could also describe some egos in politics!
‘Eating yellow foods for a healthy solar plexus?’ This sounds suspiciously like a diet fad! I wonder if chocolate could be classified under ‘healing’ food?
If only chocolate was yellow, we’d all be chakra masters by now!
‘Procrastinating’ and ‘co-dependency’—sounds like my last relationship! Maybe I should start balancing my chakras instead of scrolling through social media.
‘Scrolling through social media’ is definitely an unbalanced chakra activity! 😂
So basically, if I’m not happy it’s because my chakra needs some yoga? Sounds like a convenient excuse for all my life choices!
Next time someone asks why you’re sad, just say it’s your unbalanced chakras! 😂
